Poland is getting more and more popular destination in Europe. With cheap flight and train tickets we can make ourselves a nice weekend getaway and visit Warsaw. Despite historical value, capital city of Poland can be really fun. And still not very expensive. Polish winters are strong, and February is extremely cold, but if you plan to visit Poland in spring we made for you ultimate city guide.
Restaurant industry is one of the fastest growing in Poland branches of business. Literally at every street corner you can find elegant or hipster places to have a meal. We can especially recommend you vegan and vegetarian food at Hoża Street. Drinks and night life at Krucza or Żurawia street. Or more luxurious dining at Mokotowska street. Our best choices:
Or a new open place Hala Koszyki– old market hall transformed into lively centre of social and culinary life in Warsaw. You can choose to eat a fantastic meal in one of numerous restaurants and pubs or buy fresh products to prepare a delicious meal at home. On the upper floor are modern art galleries.
We recommend checking airbnb – Warsaw if full of nice homestay’s. Most of them are hostels in fact, and you don’t even have to contact personally with the owner- very comfortable.
Of course if you prefer more luxurious way – choose a hotel. Stay away from Old Town street and New Town street. Besides this two, you will enjoy sleeping in a city center.
Warsaw subway has only two lines- so don’t bother yourself to use these mean of transport. We highly recommend Uber or MyTaxi – the cheapest in Europe.
You definitely has to explore Vistula river shore. From early spring east shore offers a variety of bars, restaurants, food trucks areas, or just places when you can chill and lie on a sunbed.
Every biggest European city has it’s own famous park – in Warsaw- Łazienki. During the spring it’s green and blooming. Like in a fairytale. Old large trees and gardens line the pedestrian avenues, with sculpture gardens and impressive buildings. Escape from crown in really royal way.
